#spreadjoynotgerms Blog Hop

Good Morning and welcome to #spreadjoynotgerms Blog Hop. You should have been able to hop to my blog from Lisa Bzibziak: https://bzscrapper66.blogspot.com/2020/04/spread-joy-not-germs-blog-hop.html

Today I made a rainbow Thank you Card using products from Brutus Monroe. The purpose of the hop is to spread Joy and happy cards. Hopefully you are inspired to make and send some happy cards of your own.

I chose to use the Butterfly Heart Mixed Media Stencil from Brutus Monroe. I used Pixie Spray and little purple tape to affix my stencil to my card.

I decided to challenge myself and only use 4 inks on this progect. Starting with a yellow ink I blended that first in the center. Then I used a green and red ink overlapping them to create a rainbow of butterflies. Before I removed my stencil I sprayed some shimmer spray from my stash over the top.

I cut the Butterfly panel down using a graduated rectangle die set.

I then flipped through my 6 x 6 patterned paper until I found a rainbow pattern that I liked. I cut it out with the largest rectangle die to create a mat. One trick I use is when I have a paper that I really like I cut a mat from the inside (that will not show) to use on another card.

Here is one more look at my finished card

I used a tape runner to glue both the pattern paper and the butterfly panel to my card front. Then using my Misti, I choose a Thank you Stamp from Brutus Monroe’s Super Sentimental Stamp Set and my Raven Detail black ink.

A close up look at the Shimmer on the butterflies.

  21. Is there a particular brand of shimmer spray you use? I like your card. My son and daughter-in-law live four hours from us but we get to see them at least every six weeks and generally at least once a month. Because of the quarantine we are not getting to see them – that means we don’t get to see our young grandson. But, my husband and I have been getting (and giving) great joy every single day through the wonderful technology of FaceTime! Our grandson tells his mom and dad, “I need Gammaw and Nanny,” and our phone rings! He has developed quite a FaceTime personality!!! Thanks for asking such a fun question and for sharing your inspiration too.
